California Proprietary Security Officer Training – PSO
Hey there Manny and Robert, this is Una head of security for the team at The Observatory San Diego. I just listened to this specific podcast because lately we have been running into this issue a lot. Just the other night our guards escorted out 2 groups of patrons for drug use inside the venue. One group of kids that were around the ages of 16-18 and another group of guys ages 21-24. Guards said they saw the patrons sniffing coke. Once escorted out the patrons of course claimed they did not do any drugs. Now they have emailed our manager claiming to take legal actions against us. Now I tell the guards if you escort anyone for drug use you must clearly see them do it and in these two cases they did. Issue is is that once out the patrons did not have any drugs on them. They could have easily passed it off or got rid of it on the way out. So what do we do? Or what is a better system for our guards to handling situations as such. Thank you again guys!
Una, thanks for the note and trying to improve your team. I want to give you several suggestions but will respond directly back to you via email. THANKS again for listening to the podcast and the question. Look for your email later today. Thanks, Robert – Nightclub Security Consultants
Drugs are a very big problem in clubs. Security service must be prepared accordingly.
